I love design! There’s no doubt about it that I love anything that implements great design from furniture, to electronics to art to shoes to jewelry to bags and blogs!

My favorite design for interior design spans the range from a modern/Bauhaus/contemporary style with a bit of a Mediterranean/caribbean style thrown in. The Mediterranean/caribbean influence comes from our heritage as well as being a style that fits well with the HEAT of Florida!

For my photo of the day for yesterday (yes, I am a day late and hopefully I will be double-posting today) I took a shot of a set of metallic vases made in Spain that I bought from one of my favorite stores, Mobelform out of Miami Beach. If you love modern furniture, Mobelform, in the same vein as Roche Bobois (another one of our favorites, with a branch right here in Naples) offers some beautiful designs.

These vases have fantastic lines and they are so very sleek and modern. They sit in my foyer over a black wrought-iron entryway table inlaid with roughly textured tiles. I like to try to keep things looking a bit minimalist (if that’s possible with two kids and two dogs), so the sleek lines of these vases work very well with the long silk arrangements I put in them.

On that same table I have a beautiful black hand carved wooden tray from Thailand with two hand carved mahogany animal figurines from Brazil that were given to me as a gift. The combination of these rich woods and the sleek metal and lines gives my eyes and senses a feast every time I walk by the entrance to our home.

So yeah! I LOVE design
